| Mystiques Series: 2000 |
| In my earlier work the use of common household objects often served as a point of departure for examinations of traditional female roles and the disposable nature of contemporary culture. Here, their usage is joined with techniques that have marked my recent work in two dimensions: embedded in a ground of modeling paste, items such as clothespins, string, wire mesh and costume jewelry are transformed as in the mythologizing of women through adornment and domestic ritual. |
