Memories of my grandmother, a milliner, inform the mixed media series Recollecting. In a number of the works I have used wire mesh to create articles of clothing - dresses and veils that are covered with a diverse array of items including doll parts, and plastic snakes and insects. By utilizing the fine handwork of millinery a link to the past is made, a past both obscured by the veils and exposed by the rituals of adornment.
